Background
I identified a gap in video content for the Office 365 Student Advantage offer, and as a previous student myself, this initiative is something I thought should be effectively communicated for students to take advantage of. I reached out to the ICT Training team with a proposal to develop a short video aimed at students, which they were happy for me to develop.
Production Process
To ensure we were able to communicate this initiative, I was put in touch with our account manager at Microsoft who assisted with ensuring all the assets we used adhered to their visual requirements and were in line with their marketing direction.
For this project, I developed a script, storyboard and draft animation and liaised with the client (ICT Training) and other internal and external stakeholders (Microsoft) at all times to ensure it met all requirements.
I produced the storyboard with original illustration in Adobe Illustrator, and produced the animation using Adobe After Effects. Some screen capture was recorded with OBS. I performed the voiceover with assistance from Media Services.
The video was approved by all stakeholders and published on the USQ YouTube channel, with over 22K views, and consistently ranks in the highly as one of the “Top 10 videos” on the channel’s analytics dashboard. It also sits on the USQ website under ICT’s “Office 365” section.
